Type a shortcut, get the whole message
Free, unlimited text expander for Chrome. Save reusable snippets and expand them anywhere you type — email, chat, CRMs, forms — with a short shortcut. Rich text, fill-in-the-blank fields, dates, 1,000+ templates, inline autocomplete, and dictation. No account needed, no snippet limits, and your snippets stay on your device by default.
The specifics.
Concrete behaviour, not benefit-soup. If we say a feature works, you can test it in 30 seconds and prove us wrong.
Free and unlimited
No snippet caps, no trials, no paywall. Text Blaze's free plan stops at 20 active snippets and TextExpander's free plan keeps only 5 active at a time — FlashType gives you unlimited snippets, free, and works without an account.
Works where you type
Expand snippets in Gmail, Outlook, LinkedIn, Notion, your help desk, CRM, and almost any text field on the web. Rich text, fill-in-the-blank fields, and live dates all carry through.
Yours, and private
Your snippets are stored locally on your device and export in one click — no lock-in. Optional Google sign-in syncs them across your devices only when you choose to.
Three steps, under ten seconds.
Install and add a snippet
Pick a shortcut like /sig, paste your text, and you're done — or start from 1,000+ ready-made templates.
Type your shortcut anywhere
As you type, inline autocomplete shows matching snippets with a live preview — so you never have to remember them.
It expands instantly
Your full text appears in place, with fill-in prompts, dates, and formatting handled automatically.

Sales & recruiting
Send outreach, follow-ups, and scheduling messages with dynamic dates ("14 days from now") and fill-in fields, without retyping.
Anyone who repeats themselves
Signatures, addresses, common answers, and boilerplate — saved once and expanded everywhere you write.

Is FlashType really free?
Yes. Unlimited snippets, all features, and no account required to start. There is no paid tier and no snippet cap.
Does it work on any website?
It works in standard text fields across the web — email, chat, CRMs, forms, and contenteditable editors like Notion. The Google Docs canvas isn't supported yet.
Can I bring my snippets from Text Blaze or Magical?
Yes. FlashType imports directly from Text Blaze, Magical, and TextExpander exports, so you won't lose your library when you switch.
Where are my snippets stored?
Locally on your device by default. Optional Google sign-in syncs them across your own devices, and you can export everything at any time — no lock-in.
Does it support rich text and fill-in fields?
Yes. Bold, italics, links, and lists carry into apps that support them, and [[fill-in]] fields prompt you for the blanks as you insert a snippet.
