Drop the PDFs in
Drag any number of PDF files into the drop zone above. Each file lands in a reorderable list with its page count.
Set the order
Grab the drag handle (or use the up/down arrows) to arrange the files in the order you want them stitched together.
Merge & download
Click Merge. Your browser reads each PDF locally, copies the pages into a new document, and hands you a single downloadable PDF. Nothing gets uploaded.
Why on-device
Most free PDF mergers upload your files to a stranger's server, run the merge there, and email or link you back a download. That means your contracts, medical scans, tax returns, and financial statements briefly live on someone else's hard drive, subject to their retention policy and their breaches.
This tool never uploads. The PDF bytes are loaded into your browser tab, merged with pdf-lib entirely in JavaScript, and the result is handed straight to your Downloads folder as a Blob. You can open your browser's Network tab, click Merge, and watch nothing get sent.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free to merge PDFs here?
Yes. Free with no signup, no watermark, no page cap, no daily quota, and no upsell. The whole thing runs in your browser tab.
Do my PDFs get uploaded to your server?
No. The merge is 100% client-side using pdf-lib in the browser. Nothing leaves your device — you can even open your browser's Network tab and confirm no upload requests are made when you click Merge.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There's no built-in cap. In practice the limit is your device's RAM: modern laptops handle 50+ PDFs of a few hundred pages each without issue. If you notice things getting slow, merge in smaller batches and then combine the batches.
Is there a file size limit?
None imposed by us. The browser has to load each PDF into memory to copy pages out of it, so a single 500 MB scanned PDF may struggle on a low-RAM device. For typical documents (a few MB each) you can merge dozens without issue.
Will the merged PDF have watermarks?
No. Zero. This is one of the reasons the tool exists — most "free" online PDF mergers either watermark the output, cap you at a few merges per day, or push a paid tier. Ours has none of that.
Can I reorder pages before merging?
You can reorder whole files by dragging them in the list (or with the up/down buttons) before you hit Merge. Page-level reordering isn't in this tool yet — for that, split the source PDF first or use a desktop editor. Let us know if you want page-level reordering added.
What happens if one of my PDFs is password-protected?
It's flagged as "Password-protected" in the file list and skipped from the merge. Remove the password in Preview (macOS), Adobe Reader, or a desktop tool first, then re-add the file. We intentionally do not attempt to crack encryption.
Which browsers does this work in?
Any modern browser released in the last few years — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Firefox, Safari, and mobile Chrome and Safari. We use standard File, ArrayBuffer, and Blob APIs, so no polyfills or extensions are required.
Do I need to install an extension for this?
No. This page is a standalone web tool. If you want a right-click "convert this page to PDF" flow across the browser, our Convert: Anything to PDF extension covers that — but it's a different tool for a different job.
How is this different from Convert: Anything to PDF?
This page merges PDFs you already have. Convert: Anything to PDF is a Chrome extension that turns other formats (webpages, HTML files, Markdown, images) into PDFs in the first place. Common workflow: use the extension to convert a bunch of sources into PDFs, then come back here to merge them into one deliverable.
For batch conversion workflows
Need to turn a bunch of webpages, HTML files, Markdown notes, or images into PDFs before you merge them? Our Chrome extension Convert: Anything to PDF does that with a right click — then bring the resulting PDFs back here to combine into a single file.
