How to

How to save a page as one long PDF page instead of A4 sheets

The default mode paginates your capture into the paper size you chose, which is right for printing and awkward for a chat log, a receipt or a dashboard you want to read as one strip. Single Page Mode measures the rendered content height and sets the paper height to match, producing a single tall page with no breaks.

Takes about 1 min

Steps

  1. Open the page

Scroll to load everything you want included.

  2. Enable Single Page Mode in the popup

The extension measures the content and sizes the paper to fit it exactly.

  3. Convert

You get one page, as tall as the content, with nothing cut across a break.

Worth knowing

  • Good for chat logs, comment threads, timelines, activity feeds and anything conversational where a page boundary means nothing.
  • Wrong for anything that will be physically printed, filed with a page-count expectation, or submitted somewhere with formal page numbering.
  • Some PDF viewers cap maximum page height, and very tall pages produce large files. For an extremely long page the default paginated mode is the more universally compatible choice.
  • This is also the practical answer to custom paper sizes — the extension has no freeform width and height inputs, but Single Page Mode plus margin and scale control gets you close to arbitrary output dimensions.

Questions

Does Single Page Mode work for very long pages?

It works, but be sensible. A page thirty or forty screens deep produces a tall page any modern reader handles fine. Something in the hundreds of screens produces a very large page that older and mobile viewers render slowly — use normal pagination for those.

Can I set a completely custom paper size?

Not as freeform width and height inputs. Single Page Mode effectively gives you a custom page height, and the margin and scale controls let you fine-tune most other dimensions. Fully arbitrary paper sizes are tracked as a feature request.
