How to choose paper size and orientation

Paper size and orientation are set per conversion in the popup. The choice matters most for tabular data and wide images, where the wrong orientation produces something unreadable rather than merely imperfect.

Takes about 1 min

Steps

  1. Open the extension and load your file or choose This Page

The size and orientation controls appear alongside the convert button.

  2. Choose a paper size

A4 (international standard) or US Letter for most documents. US Legal for longer pages. Tabloid for wide tables and large images.

  3. Set the orientation

Portrait for documents and text; landscape for wide tables, spreadsheets and photos.

  4. Convert

The setting applies to the whole conversion, including a merged set.

Worth knowing

  • CSV files with six or more columns switch to landscape automatically. You can still override it.
  • When merging a mixed set, one size and orientation applies to everything. If most of the content is wide, choose landscape for the whole document rather than fighting it per file.
  • Tabloid is 11 × 17 in. It opens normally in any PDF reader — sheet size only matters if someone physically prints it.

Questions

Which paper sizes are available?

A4, US Letter, US Legal and Tabloid, each in portrait or landscape, selectable per conversion.

Can I use different orientations for different files in one merge?

No — one paper size and orientation applies to the whole merged document. Where a set is mixed, pick the orientation that suits most of the content, or convert the odd ones separately.
