Is CineMan AI really free?
Yes. No premium tier, no rate limits, no credit card. The Google Gemini-powered AI recommendations are free for personal use.
Which streaming services does it work on?
Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+. Ratings appear directly on the cards as you browse — no extra clicks, no tab-switching.
Where do the IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings come from?
Public IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes data, refreshed regularly. The extension does not require a login to either service to display the ratings.
What is "Taste Match"?
A percentage shown on each title estimating how likely you are to enjoy it — based on your viewing history or ratings, not generic popularity. Taste Match activates after you've rated or imported 5+ titles.
Do I need to upload my Netflix history?
No. Your taste profile is built locally from data you optionally import. If you choose to import your Netflix viewing history CSV, it is read and processed in your browser — the file itself is not uploaded anywhere.
How does the AI recommendation feature work?
The extension sends a recommendation query (e.g. "a slow-burn thriller like Zodiac") to Google Gemini, plus a compact summary of your top genres — never your raw viewing history. The model returns titles, which the extension scores against your local taste profile before displaying.
Does it work without a CineMan account?
Yes. Everything is stored locally in the browser. There is no CineMan account to create or sign in to.
Will it slow down Netflix or other streaming sites?
No noticeable impact. The extension lazily fetches ratings as cards scroll into view and caches them, so the streaming UI stays responsive.
How accurate are the AI recommendations?
Quality scales with how many titles you've rated. After ~20 rated titles, recommendations should feel meaningfully personalised. Below 5 rated titles, the extension falls back to globally-popular suggestions.
Can it work on streaming sites other than Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+?
Not currently. Support for HBO Max, Apple TV+, and Hulu is on the roadmap.
Which browsers does it work on?
Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and any Chromium-based browser.
Install CineMan AI.
Free forever. No account. Two clicks. Uninstall in two more if it doesn't help.
